“For years this shop was my go-to. They were a reliable $2-under-spot buyer and I sold all my precious metals here without hesitation. Not anymore. The numbers they’re offering now are so low I can literally ship my silver to an online dealer and still walk away with more money and that includes paying for shipping and insurance. When silver was cheap, they had no problem taking their cut and doing business. Now that prices are running up, suddenly the “market is weird” and they’re acting like they have to gut the customer to stay afloat. That’s not how this industry works. If you’re going to deal precious metals, you show up for the good and the bad not take advantage the second spot spikes. Being offered $52 an ounce when spot is $60.70 isn’t a small spread. It’s daylight robbery. This kind of pricing is exactly why people don’t trust local shops anymore. It’s not the market that’s the issue it’s places like this choosing to take advantage of the market. Completely unacceptable. *Call around to other shops. I was able to find multiple in person shops that are still buying 2-3$ under spot and don’t screw over repeat customers. The owners response is exactly what I expected unfortunately.”
