Gem City Collects Sports cards & Memorabilia

“My 9 year old daughter has quickly taken up collecting cards and other memorabilia. We've visited various stores and card shows over the last year+ and Gem City was by far one of our best experiences. We visited about an hour before closing on a week night and it was quiet. Joey was sitting at the front, thumbing through cards and was very welcoming. He asked my daughter about her favorite players and quickly acknowledged her Bengals Chase jersey. Minutes later as we were browsing, he flipped her a freebie Chase card from the stack he was surveying. She was carrying her card case and he took interest and asked if he could see her collection. We are still very new to the card game, but she has amassed quite the collection of unique cards, autos, etc. He took the time to flip through, making sure to comment on some of his favorites and other "really sweet" cards from her stock pile. She was beaming because a card expert took interest in her collection. He was encouraging to her, and I could tell he genuinely enjoys the hobby. It's not just a business. We browsed for a half hour or more and ended up picking up a couple autos. Gem City also has a massive collection of all the latest boxes for every sport. We had no idea the boxes a store like Gem City receives are different than what you might find at Target, etc. He took time to explain the hottest picks, what boxes and cards people are chasing etc. Naturally, we got hooked and wanted to rip some packs and Joey turned us on the newest box of 2025 Select NFL cards. We ripped some packs, got a few hits, and he stocked us up with some penny sleeves and cases for the best ones. Before we cashed out, he surprised my daughter with few additional little gifts. Some 2023 packs of Topps baseball cards, some stickers for her carrying case, and two cards from his personal collection. To a 9 yr old, that was everything. She got an opportunity to rip some more packs and added another numbered card and slab to her collection. The value doesn't matter. She likes the players and to her, they are unique rare finds that someone gifted her. If you have kids, check out their kids boxes. I think the price was a $100 but the box includes 4 boxes of cards like Mosaic and Absolute and is well over 100 value. Perfect for a birthday or Christmas gift. Small, simple, down to earth place. Prices are more than fair. But we got a lot more value out of our visit. She's already asking if we can go again next week. Check them out for sure.”

“It’s cheap it could get a lot of cards there. I recommend you go there. It’s great like you have a $.10 football card. They have baseball cards. They have all of it in the UFC magic cards soccer cards. They have like a whole box of it like this for $.10 and they’re really good ones. They’re cheap too go it’s great.”
