“A comic book store that is unafraid to sell comic books! Coming from Boston to Chicago, I had felt frustrated with self-proclaimed comic stores that hid their meager collection of books in a dark corner and instead primarily sold licensed junk merchandise and T shirts. While there are some cool collectibles at Challengers, it is an actual comic book store! This place has a great range of books from the big 2 as well as plenty of independent publishers. They have new releases, back issues, trade paperbacks of all sorts. If you're a veteran comic reader, someone developing a new interest, or a returner to the hobby, Challengers has you covered!”

“This is a great comic book shop! Well organized, easy to browse, and lots of comics. There's a local comics section which is always great to see; I really appreciate local stores that promote local artists and writers. There's also a separate room for young readers with lots of young children appropriate comics and books. The people were very friendly and happy to talk comics and latest news. This is a great place to hang out and look at comics!”
