“Skeptical to the max after seeing the bad reviews from Walmart. I wanted to return the box the second it got to my door step but decided against it because impulsivity and instant gratification from opening packs plague me. This game is a gamble and I was just a lucky turtle duck but amazing pulls. I was able to make my money back and then some! Ripped one random card from my play booster box because I’m paranoid it’s dyed in the center so authentic✨ (sorry merchant with many hats).”

“Great selection on stuff and friendly staff except for one person. Store reply: So what happened to the additional 20% I was supposed to receive? I sold cards that equalled over $100 value, meaning I was supposed to be offered according to your chart in store, 60% for cash. I received 68% in store credit. EDIT: Below was because a certain employee is horrible at trade ins and didnt give me the additional 20% on top for in-store credit. I’ll be leaving his name here when I found out his name so people can avoid him. The only thing I wouldn’t recommend is selling cards here. I was offered 68% value IN STORE CREDIT of my 3 cards I brought in. Online it says they offer an additional 20% for in store credit, meaning, I would have only received 48% cash for my cards. All my cards were NM except 1 which was LP. Cards were worth 188 according to manabox at the time for selling, they offered me 128 in store credit which comes out to the 68%.”

“Went in-store to look for some MTG singles. They have a great electronic system set up so u can search for what you want and they will pull it and you can pay right in the store. Staff super nice. Very clean. I didn't get to venture much past the front counter this time, but I will return when I have more time to spend!”

“I've been a loyal customer of Cataclysm Games for years and have spent thousands of dollars with them on Pokémon products. I've always preferred supporting a local game store over buying from big retailers or resellers. As an added benefit I've tried to pay cash as much as possible and even paid over market value in times like celebrations (25th annv) just knowing my money was in the local economy. Unfortunately, I've been extremely disappointed with how they've handled the recent Pokémon market. Instead of selling products at reasonable prices to their customers, they've been pricing all items well above MSRP and even well above market. It feels like the store is taking advantage of the current demand rather than rewarding the community that has supported them for years even when people like me were buying darkness ablaze, brilliant stars, rebel clash and other low performing sets. I understand that stores need to make a profit, but there's a difference between fair market pricing and pricing that feels like scalping. It's especially discouraging when just a few short years ago they would be proud to be out of stock on popular items especially when I was ripping multiple booster boxes of evolving skies each week. Now it feels like cataclysm takes pride in not selling product just to flex that they have products in stock. I genuinely hope Cataclysm Games reconsiders this approach. I'd much rather continue supporting a local business than be forced to shop elsewhere, but it's becoming increasingly difficult to justify doing so especially when they are selling even Chinese cards 1.7x market value. Give us a loyalty program for people who enjoy ripping packs. Make consumers open items in store or break the seal for those who are not wanting to resell but just open cards. In the past month I have spent about $1000 here between my wife and I but as of yesterday I will be taking a break from them. I was able to secure many booster boxes of pitch black at retail ($160) online elsewhere. Seeing that they are already marking up pre orders on a set that will likely perform poorly, I have been completely discouraged from this place. I know things change and I cannot walk cataclysm be greeted by the dog and rip packs at retail like I used to, but the magic of this place just feels so lost.”
