“This place has everything and for great prices. Was looking for some power cords and AV cables to go to some of my retro gaming consoles and they had them for way cheaper than anywhere else. Also, most places don't even sell them anymore. Definitely going back.”

“Thank you Gameware for servicing local Louisiana from Baton Rouge location to the Gonzales. I appreciate all the great games I've obtained from Gameware. As well I very much appreciate the repair service. When I found a PS4 in the wild at a garage sale. I just had to get it for my nephew. It thankfully worked for awhile. He played his PS4 like crazy. Then it broke. I just had to get it fixed for him. Which Gameware did. Even though now it's in the closet. It's still working thanks to Gameware. Recently my Switch broke.... Thankfully so far the only console I've ever had break. Again Gameware came to the rescue. They're always cleaning discs when I purchase the games. Pretty much everything I purchase that's used is in great condition. Then you've got the unknowns and the rarities you find. Games you weren't aware of or forgot. Like currently you see Voidwrought. It really grabbed my attention. So I checked it out. Looks pretty sweet! One time I went in Gonzales they had Farmagia. Which I forgot about. The box art looked cool. Looked it up. Looked fun. Didn't purchase it but then went back in that day to get it. Recently I came across a steel book of Walking Dead Saints and Sinners Retribution. It looked so cool. I had also get it. So yeah just wanted to leave a comment saying thanks for everything. Seeing as my old comment was for the mall location. Even included photos of my recent purchases. Also checked all the Wii games which they cleaned and the disc look nice, plus they all boot up. Again thanks. Those Wii games were Gonzales purchases also. Got my 3DS game from College.”

“Stopped in today with my son to check the store out. Found a lot of great priced, NES, SMS, SG, and N64 titles. Also got a nice uDraw tablet for my daughters for their Wii. Such a great store with helpful staff. Left a pixel club member and will definitely be back soon!”

“TLDR: Do not buy a used console from this location. A few months back, I bought a WiiU with the intent to mod it. Figured Gameware was a safer bet than EBay. Apparently that wasn't the case. At the display, you only get to see the console itself, not the WiiU gamepad. The gamepad itself was in a crappy condition. There were faded out stickers on it, the screen is scratched up, the sticks are well worn and the buttons are sticking a bit when pressed. But I went ahead and cleaned it up the best that I could. I noticed that the back was bulging out a bit so I went ahead and unscrewed the battery compartment just to realize that the batter had swollen up terribly. This is where I should have probably returned the console, but I saw that it was a fairly easy replacement so I sucked it up and replaced the battery. After getting the battery replacement, I realized that I never got the charger for the gamepad and that the stylist was missing. Never having owned a WiiU before, I completely missed this when they handed me everything they had for it. At this point, it was past the return by date so I went ahead and ordered a replacement charger. A few months have passed and I'm finally getting around to modding the console after putting it off for a while because of these issues. They wiped the console so it needed to be resynced to the gamepad. After multiple failed attempts, it would never sync. Searching online, it looks like the gamepad needs a replacement Bluetooth module. I'm convinced at this point that nothing was looked at by Gameware before putting the device up for resale. It's in such a poor condition that they should have never accepted it in the first place. I'll probably have to open it up entirely to replace the module at this point rather than buying a new gamepad. If you're going to Gameware to get a retro game, you probably can't go wrong. Plus they have repaired broken controllers and scratched up discs for me very well in the past. They're also a local business which I greatly appreciate over the likes of GameStop. I don't have the heart to give them only one star because of this, but at this point I can't recommend them any less when it comes to buying used hardware. If you do want a used console from Gameware, have them try to use the device before accepting it to make sure everything's actually there and working. Edit: The owner of Gameware has contacted me offering to make things right. With their generosity, I now have my WiiU finally up and running. I want to thank him and his employees for being professional, polite and speedy with this process. I'll be changing my review to 5 stars. Please go and support them if you're considering picking up a console or game especially since they're a local business.”
