“We were wondering at Portland downtown and stumbling upon this hidden gem. Casablanca was located at the basement level. Some DC and Marvel’s posters by the entrance. I already knew it was gonna be a good place. Kids section at the front. My 5yo picked out “Loki Loki where are you?” She loves it!! Many collectible items and comics through out the store. Posters wrapped and boarded nicely for carrying out. I would say the price is fair for the collectible. Loki book was maybe $7? The guy at the counter was very nice. I didn’t ask any questions but I saw him directing a young lady to a specific section. Overall it’s really nice and relaxing in the store. Spacious and quiet.”

“My first stop every time I come to Portland. Great selection and great prices. The staff are always super helpful and engaging. An employee even chased me down the street because I left a graphic novel I purchased in the shop. I mean is there anything else you could ask for?”

“Whatever happened to Matt Murdock? During our recent trip to Portland, Maine, to protest ICE, we stopped somewhere important. Sacred perhaps. A place where they keep the stories. The ones that comfort you when you’re small and scared, and that can help you find pieces of who you are capable of being. I liked their “No ICE” signs; they liked my utility vest and bullhorn. With a name as relevant as it’s ever been, I thoroughly enjoyed my recent visit to Casablanca Comics. My spouse picked up a copy of Maus and an excellent Edgar Allen Poe graphic novel for our daughters. Did I need help finding anything, they asked? No thanks, this was one of those visits where the stories would find me. Ah, here’s one about an attorney living with disability, who has not come *for* help. They have come *to* help. It does not look easy. Whatever happened to Matt Murdock?”

“This was a wonderful comic book store established in a basement setting, with wooden frame shelves filled with lots of comic books. The variety span across all different realms and universes, Marvel, DC obviously and some other less known ones. They also had sets of comic books, big posters, Pokemon cards. All the items had a decent price, the sets were little high price, since they were combination of a bunch. We bought a kids story book for our daughter, it was about Loki. The gentleman at the register was super friendly. The POS machine wasn’t working, so we paid cash. Overall it a nice store to visit for comic fans.”
