“I visited Universal Comics today on Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) for the first time and I had a really great time! I spent close to 5 hours flipping through every comic they had (except all the titles I wasn't shopping for upstairs). Their basement has dozens of long boxes filled with $1 comics (they are $1 every day) and there's some really good stuff down there! There's all the popular superheroes like Deadpool, Spider-Man, Gwenpool, Wolverine, Superman, Conan, and Green Lantern and Batman. You'll also find old Archie titles, Sad Sack, Kid Colt, Rawhide Kid and Marvel Team-Up. If you look long enough, you'll find 25, 30, 40 and 50 cent issues that are Very Good or better shape. On FCBD their back issues were 50% off (most are $4 to $6 before any discount), their low price variant covers were 50% off and their statues were 50% off. Their very recent back issues were only $1 and just about anything that was not 50% or $1 was 20% off including their wall books. I bought a Spider-Man/Deadpool #1 off their wall and two variant covers. I looked at the Ebay prices for the variant covers and Gordon was able to beat the lowest Ebay price on one of them and got within $3 of the the other. I will close with some useful information. They are located right next to Sorrento's. Their basement and main public restroom is downstairs and not handicap accessible but they do have an upstairs restroom for anyone that cannot go downstairs. There's free parking on the street and a free parking lot next to the shop that's also used by Sorrento's. Some of their upstairs back issue boxes are too high for some people to look into so they have two steps tools for customers to use. Just make sure to put them away so people don't trip on them. :)”

“I stopped by on a whim. It is a great little shop with a wide selection of modern books and a $1.00 basement. The staff was friendly and knew a lot about comics. They also talked about a local comic creator who would be in the shop to sign and talk about his book, which is a common occurrence when I asked. Highly recommend stopping by this shop and support the local area”
