“I can confidently say that Black Vault Gaming is one of the best local game stores in Metro Detroit for Magic: The Gathering players. If you’re looking for a Modern tournament scene, competitive-level events, or well-run Magic: The Gathering prerelease events, this is the place to be. The Modern tournaments are organized, competitive, and attract strong players, but the atmosphere is still welcoming and community-focused. Their prerelease events are always smooth, fun, and professionally managed with great prizes and an awesome turnout every time. Beyond events, Black Vault Gaming is my go-to spot to just sit down and play Magic with friends. The gaming space is clean, spacious, and comfortable, with plenty of tables for Commander, Modern testing, or casual play. It’s the kind of environment that makes you want to stay for a while! Their selection of Magic: The Gathering singles, sealed product, booster boxes, sleeves, deck boxes, and accessories is consistently strong. They always have cool stuff in stock, and the inventory rotates enough that there’s something new to check out regularly. If you’re building a Modern deck or grabbing preorders, they’ve got you covered. Customer service is top-tier. The staff is knowledgeable about formats like Modern and always helpful whether you’re a competitive WIZARD OF THE COAST or a casual player. They genuinely care about the local TCG community, and it shows in the way they run events and interact with customers. I definitely recommend this place!”

“My neighborhood card shop. These folks are new to the area, but seam to be in it for the community. I called a couple weeks before my most recent visit, just to get a feel for what they had. Gentleman was super nice on the phone, and just as helpful in person. I picked up a Gengar mat for my desk and a sweet pin to match for 5 bucks. I didn’t see any cards I was actively hunting but did check on some of his prices, and he is right in the ball park. He also Informed me you can see any card in their store on their sight. I love binders full of everyone’s doubles so I don’t have to buy packs all the time, they do not have binders, but thats not a knock on them so much as a note. Welcome to the community Black Vault.”

“Went in yesterday looking for a new local card shop and I was impressed! They have a much wider selection then other stores I've been to: Tons of pack types to choose from, playmats, binders, deck boxes, storage options Just about everything you can think of. They also even have a retro game section which was awesome, both games and accessories. Store was super clean and the guys at the counter were amazing and friendly and helped me find some singles I wanted. I will definately be returning. :)”
