“I found a vintage stereo receiver at goodwill. It needed some work so i googled and found Jays shop. I called and spoke to Anthony who was incredibly helpful and told me to bring the stereo in if I wanted it looked at. I was there within the hour and instantly felt i was in vintage audio heaven. I was amazed that Jay and Anthony instantly sprung into action and had the unit apart and cleaned and fixed within an hour. Who does that? I expected to leave it and come back in a week or two! I then started shopping other pieces of vintage equipment and Jay, while his dinner was sitting on the counter getting cold , answered every question I had about each piece I was interested in. Since my visit Ive become obsessed with vintage stereos and speakers all thanks to Jays knowledge. What a cool education i had. Totally schooled! My advice is, do not buy vintage stereo equipment on ebay or marketplace without talking to Jay first. If you do, chances are when it stops working you will be bringing it to Jay for repairs. And the reviews i read about high prices, I disagree! I felt his prices were too low! It appears most of the units have been serviced and as Jay told me “ good for another 30 years” A real personalized throw back business like they used to be. Loved every second I was thete!”

“Went in just to check out the hifi setups and browse the retro games, but my girlfriend and I ended up buying a pink guitar! We’re both very satisfied with it and it was really good quality for the price. I’ll definitely be back soon to pick up a turntable.”

“They repaired a Technics SA-350 of mine in 1998 and it is still going strong in 2026! Needed an STK2038 module at the time.”

“It’s hard to find people these days who really know how to repair vintage audio equipment, but Barracks Trading Post is a rare gem. I recently brought in my Marantz 2215B receiver, and they did an outstanding job fixing it. It sounds incredible now—just like it should. The team is knowledgeable, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. What really stands out to me is their honesty and generosity. About two years ago, I brought in a Technics turntable just to have them take a look, and the owner actually fixed it on the spot—for free. That kind of service is almost unheard of. I highly recommend Barracks Trading Post for any vintage audio gear repairs. They truly go above and beyond!”
