“I was a regular customer here until about 5 years ago when I moved. my experience could not have been better. Staff knows you by name and what you’re interested in. One time I bought a Key book and the owner remembered and gave me the issue before that key book for free. I recently moved back and even after 5 years the second I walked into the store the staff welcomed me home by name. It felt like it hadn’t been 5 years by how I was treated. “The level of excellence that Pete Bell has managed to maintain with Bell, Book and Comic is nothing short of amazing to me. It’s easily my favorite comic shop in the area, hands down. I can talk endlessly about their selection — spanning “traditional” Marvel and DC to indies, local titles and a vast array of new releases — to back issues. Whatever genre you’re interested in, they’ll most likely have it. Their range is broad and spectacular: superheroes, sci-fi, Western, pin-up, horror, espionage, etc., to kid-friendly fare like Archie, Scooby-Doo and Casper. In addition, they have EVERY variant cover you can imagine. If an issue has 10 different variants, there’s a very good chance Bell, Book and Comic has them stocked. What makes this place truly special is their customer service. Regardless of whether you’re coming in to purchase an Incredible Hulk #181 issue for $3,400 or just want to peruse “reader copies” from the $0.50 bins in the back room, you’ll never be judged. If you need help, more than a few knowledgeable folks are always present and willing to lend a hand (or wait patiently while you browse). Finally, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention their annual piece de resistance, which is Free Comic Book Day. To say it’s an event would be doing it a severe injustice. Not only is every FCBD issue ordered, but local artists are regularly booked to offer their wares, take commissions, and/or just talk shop. Dozens of long boxes of back issues are marked down to $1, offering collectors and browsers alike opportunities to stock up at very budget-friendly rates. Sorry for the longer post, but if I was going to take a few minutes to review Bell, Book and Comic, I wanted to convey the pure joy I have every time I walk in there. I honestly and truly cannot recommend it highly enough.”

I’ve gone in multiple times to spend money on comics and mtg cards, both of which they have a huge collection, but was ignored even after telling the clerk I was looking for cards. This is a great store for selection and we do need to support our local independent comic and card shops, but come on Bell, do better!”
