I come here for my magic cards, use to go to better plays gaming in stow. But empire doesn't have a time restriction on when they sell their pre release items. Prices are pretty good either a little below market or just at market for sealed stuff. Have a good selection of singles. Would like them to have an online pull list request, but I understand why they don't. So if you need stuff pulled you gotta hand it to them in person. There seems to be a good amount of players that come by here, if you want to join an event. The staff is always friendly, greet you when you come in and try to get you taken care of right away.

The store is clean, organized, and fun. My son enjoys Friday night Magic the Gathering events. Service is great. Open to beginners to advanced players. 1-16-26 Update, great pre-release event. Packed the store as see in additional photos.

This place is such a scam! I brought in an older gen card that was worth close to $90 amoung a few other cards that maybe added up to about $40 on top of the $90 card. They only gave me $37 for all of my cards. I mean seriously!? Do better with your pricing because this incident has definitely pushed away my business now here. This also has not just happened once either, I should be able to trust in a REAL owned card shop that they will give FAIR pricing for cards. The employees can be rude and very rushing as to wanting you to leave so they can get back to their computers. Where's the "nice and welcoming" customer service thats promised?! Before this incident happened as well they accepted cards of value $3 and up and now not even a year later they will only take cards of value higher than $10 when they sell cards that are UNDER $10 by sometimes over half, now please explain how that makes sense?? I know multiple people who come here and every single person ive talked(Even strangers ive traded with inside the shop) too has had an experience like this at least once. Don't bother wasting your hard earned money tbh either. DO BETTER!!!

I used to drive 45 minutes from the Willoughby area specifically to come to this card shop, because it was awesome and fair. I haven't been able to make it out recently, until today, and... Oh my, how things have changed for the worse. I was seeking a Journey Together booster box. I drove there with confidence, knowing they'd have it and that it would be at or around market price, because that had been my experience over the years (id even be willing to pay $20 over market). They have these boxes marked at $330 (before tax), when market is $240-245. Again, I would have paid $260-$265 (plus tax), which is more than fair. I was very cordial with the gentleman who was working, and told him that I really would like to give them my business, I like shopping there, and asked for a more fair price, but I just got completely shut down. I dont understand why anyone would pay $330 (plus tax) for a box thats $90 cheaper and very available online. So you know what i did? I ordered one from TCGplayer for $263 after tax. I'd rather have supported my favorite card area card shop, but here we are. Whoever is making these decisions on pricing....Dude, you're at distributor level with the pokemon company. Booster boxes and the like are NOT scarce nor expensive for you. You're going to make your money continually as sets come out because, ya know, you have access to a distributor. I dont even want to get in to talking about their singles... $750 for the phantasmal zard when its $650 anywhere else (this was across the board). These practices may work for a while, but the people who once respected your business will dwindle (as well as people like me wont give good word of mouth anymore). I hope this gets turned around before that happens. As an important side note, Emily, the (very kind, knowledgeable, and professional) girl who works there, once told my buddy Joe that he spends more than almost any other regular. Sadly, Joe and I will be spending $0 there going forward if nothing changes. I am writing this review, not as a dig on this establishment, but as a plea for them to reconsider their recent changes in conducting business. I always looked forward to visiting there because the community seemed strong, and the business seemed fair. I always told people it was the best card shop in northeast ohio (and it definitely WAS). Now it just seems like a greedy cash grab that doesnt care about their community or reputation at all. Please prove me wrong. I want to come back.
