“Newbury Comics has been my favorite "nerd store" for several years now. You know the type. Of course they have the requisite Funko pops, books (anime and non), vinyl and CDs, plushies and action figures, mugs, and novelties. But they carry so many unique and interesting things other similar stores don't. It's hard to describe exactly what. It's just novelties on a deeper and more obscure level. For example, this trip we found a Svengoolie toy and action figures of the Sesame Street Meeping Martians. Like, who has that in 2025? This specific location also has a collection of hyper specific Rhode Island merchandise. I got a hot wieners shirt a few years back, and every time I wear it back home in California I get hilarious looks and questions. A true conversation starter. All thanks to the variety found here!”

“Newbury Comics was such a fun stop! I popped in on a Thursday looking for Providence-branded souvenirs and was lucky to find some really cool t-shirts designed by a local artist. The energy in the store totally reminded me of how Barnes & Noble used to feel back in the early 2000s - casual, fun, and packed with comics, posters, toys, and music. The staff were awesome. I even grabbed one of those Smiski collectibles on a whim - and to the manager who suggested I pick one up, we ended up getting the Sunday Series “Taking a Nap with a Cat”, which was perfect for my kiddo. It was also super nice to see things that are usually sold out near my hometown available here at a fair price. All in all, a really enjoyable store with great people, cool stuff, and a fun, nostalgic vibe. Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in Providence!”

“Super cool place right here in Rhode Island palace mall have absolutely everything you could ever imagine. Socks shirts, anything you need Staff is really cool friendly hung around for at least 20 minutes. Just checking out the awesome stuff that they had.”
