Academy Sports + Outdoors

“I went there for shoes. I didn't like the way the shoes were set up. Overall I like the store. Just won't go there for shoes. That's just me though about the shoes . Might be fine for someone else. I'm in my 70s if that helps explain my answer”

“Academy is a good sporting goods store, but I would probably emphasize the "Outdoors" part of its name when coming here. I came in to look at some golf equipment, but their selection was quite limited. If you're looking for "outdoors" merchandise like hunting gear, fishing gear, coolers, guns & ammunition, etc. this is a great store. If you're looking for specific gear for a particular sport like basketball, baseball, football, or golf, I'd probably pick another option like Play It Again or Dick's.”

“I usually have pretty good service here. But the last trip, the gentleman at the firearm counter completely ignored us. So I left and spent my money elsewhere. Hopefully our next visit will be better.”

“I went to Academy Sports looking for some hot weather camo , since deer season is two weeks away. They didn't have a selection like you would think. I found a shirt but no pants. All the pants were winter pants, which is kinda dumb considering we don't get that cold. They had two people at the registers who had one speed extra slow ,with about ten people in line. I get to the register and a young lady waits on me. She rings me up and it says I should get back 7.65 , so she gives me 6.30 ,I told her she didn't give me the correct change back and repeatedly gave me the wrong change two times after that. Come on Academy Sports step up your game.”
