“I came here and another location. Found some good deals on games. I don't live in the state and a game didn't work. The owner was kinda enough to let me return the game through the mail. These stores have had the best experiences for me as a customer. I've been to about 5 different locations and every time they are staffed by very pleasant and kind people. I really like that a few locations have more than just console games and go into the 2nd generation of home consoles and even 8 bit computers. I've found carts, cassettes, and floppy disk games for my Atari 800, carts for TI-99, Commodore, and more. Which is amazing for me since I collect and play over 40 consoles, 20 handhelds and 14 vintage computers. Even find stuff for imported consoles at these stores. It's literally the best retro game store chain I have ever experienced.”

“If you are a retro gaming fan or a collector in the North Texas area, you absolutely have to stop by Game Over Video Games in McKinney. The atmosphere is incredible, but the service is what really sets this place apart. I had the pleasure of being helped by Drew, and I can’t recommend him enough. He truly knows his stuff and went above and beyond to help me hunt down some specific items. I was looking for some high-quality Halo and Resident Evil gear, and Drew knew exactly where to look. He helped me find some incredibly cool pieces for my collection that I probably would have missed if I were just browsing on my own. It’s rare to find a shop where the staff is just as passionate about the lore and the tech as the customers are. Drew made the whole experience awesome, and I’ll definitely be heading back to see what else they get in stock.”

“I've shopped here several times and always had a good experience. However, I am knocking off 2 stars because they have the same blanket return policy for both used and new items. Their website states "Due to the nature of the used video games business, we do not offer refunds under any circumstances." I realize 99% of their game inventory is used and this is a reasonable policy for used games. However, they also sell brand new games (they are a Retrocade and Retro-bit dealer), and I think games bought new that are brought back factory sealed should be refundable, just like they would be at any other retailer that sells new games. I just got burned by this policy today, and as such I won't be buying new games from Game Over anymore. Game Over should consider updating their policy to make an exception for new games. Edit: Took it back per the owner's invitation and swapped it for a different game. Changed to 5 stars. Thank you for the good service!”
