“UPDATE: I had to take my Xbox back, it turned out to be a different issue than what the original repair theory was. They repaired it under the warranty also, which I appreciated (60 day warranty). My biggest take away is that after my original review, they actually implemented a change! The communication level was top notch this second time around and the entire staff seriously are very nice and understanding people. They were appreciative that I brought the issue to their attention, and the fact that they immediately made changes is so cool; not many businesses do that! 5 stars all the way, I will definitely be a returning customer! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I took my Xbox here for repairs, the deposit was $35. I was told it would be a 2-3 day turn around, it was 15 days. Not once did anyone on the staff ever call me to update me on the status, I had to continue to call only to be told "it's with the technician, you're at top of the list." Finally, I spoke with Shelby who actually gave me a detailed response as to what the hold up was (delay in shipment of a part). Each time I called, I did communicate how unnerving it was to have left my item with them with no updates for so long but, until Shelby, no one seemed to realize updates should be normal. If you leave your car at the mechanic and they tell you to expect 2-3 days of repairs but then don't call you ONCE in 2 weeks, would you be a little upset? Honestly, I'm not angry about it but I just expected SOME communication. They could have at least called to say they ordered a part and given me an option of costs for the part/repair. In the end, my total cost for the repair was only $100 total. I actually decided to bring in another console, games, and controllers for trade in when I picked up. They offered me $90 for store credit for the items, which I accepted. I then selected a $25 used game and my whole total came out to $1 with some change. I have no receipt of the repair, no receipt of my purchase, but was told that I have a 2 month warranty of the repair. I'm docking 1 star due to lack of communication, however I will still return here as a customer because Brian (Bryan?) and Shelby really did try to make up for these mistakes with their understanding and kindness. This place seems to run off of old school business vibes where you just have to trust their word, which is scary these days, but my experience shows that it did still work out in the positives. If you're looking for a bit more 2026 business etiquette, you might look elsewhere like The Cave. Their selection is phenomenal, with some items being a little underpriced and some overpriced so they must break even somewhere. They also have a small selection on the counter that's all staff picks, so classic!”

“Today was my first time in this store and I had a great experience. The store is clean and they have a ton of selection. The guy at the counter was really nice and helped me look at all the games I wanted. Prices are higher here than most stores I've been too, but on most games I found them to be fair. The problem with ebay is there's so many fakes and reproductions that it's nice to inspect a high value game and see the condition. My biggest complaint was that they had too many games that I wanted and I couldn't buy them all.”

“The best game store in the fair Oaks region and even in Sacramento as a whole. The remodel they have done in the past years has made more room for patrons, displays, cabinets and merchandise. I've been coming here since I was a kid. Always have had great prices and amazing retro games.”

“Super wide variety of games! Classic games, new games, rare games, games I've never heard of...staff was great too! Excellent, quick, polite, and helped me with a couple questions regarding certain games. Fairest game!”
