The Game Parlour

“Absolutely loved The Game Parlour — genuinely one of my favorite places we visited while in San Francisco. As someone with celiac disease, finding places that are not only safe but also fun and genuinely exciting to eat at can be difficult, and this place absolutely delivered. Everything being gluten-free immediately made it feel more relaxing, but what really surprised me was just how many options they had. It was honestly hard to choose because so much of the menu sounded good. There were two of us, and we ended up ordering three items to split because we wanted to try multiple things, but the portions were way more filling than we expected. The waffle sandwiches especially were substantial, and combined with fries and drinks, we were struggling to finish everything by the end — definitely not a complaint! Beyond the food, the whole concept and atmosphere were just great. It’s part board game café, part restaurant, and it created such a fun, welcoming environment. They had board games, cards, games for purchase, and what appeared to be rentable/playable games as well. Even in the middle of the week around lunchtime, there was a nice mix of people there — some working remotely, some grabbing lunch, some hanging out and playing games. It really felt like a community space. The owners/staff were also incredibly kind and patient while I asked a million questions trying to decide what to order because there were so many things I wanted to try. They were genuinely helpful and welcoming throughout the whole experience. The space itself was comfortable too, with nice bathrooms and what appeared to be outdoor seating for warmer weather. Overall, this is exactly the kind of business I love supporting: inclusive, social, community-oriented, and safe for people with dietary restrictions without making the experience feel limited or boring. I truly hope they continue to thrive because I would 1000% go back and already want to return next time I’m in San Francisco.”

“Spent a few hours here on our last day visiting San Fransisco. Was very busy and we felt lucky to get a table. Big selection of boardgames with welcoming staff keen to help with our decision making. Great coffee, chicken waffle sandwich was delicious, served quickly and came with the best fries we experienced in San Francisco. TGP was fairly noisy when we visited but that's to be expected as there were gaming events happinging at the same time. Great place that I dont hesitate to recommend.”

“This place is super awesome! It’s really a great combination of a lot of different things that I love. They have a lot of magic product to browse from and other TCG games. Also, they have a great catalog of games to play with your friends if you want to make this into an outing. The food there is also delicious and to the best of my knowledge It’s all gluten-free, which is great for me and I’m always gonna shout that out in a review so other gluten-free people can find it. Definitely recommend checking this place out.”
