“Alex is awesome. I had settled on buying another $12 single pack of cards after being intimidated by all the options on display. After asking Alex for help, I left with an $80 box and the knowledge to get back into the trading card game I have missed since childhood. During grad school, my friends and I made a tradition out of each buying a single pack of Pokémon cards before a big exam, and predicting who would perform the best based on the relative value of the cards we drew. With the bar ten weeks out, I wanted to have one pack of cards for myself for every week of studying. Before I entered the store, I figured a box would be the more "economical" approach. However, after seeing so much variety in both content and pricing, I was less sure. After some frantic Google searches on my phone, I settled on buying a single pack (of which there is even more confusing variety) and calling it quits until I find the time to figure all of this stuff out. Thankfully, Alex already had it all figured out for me. He walked me through why different packs and boxes are priced differently, and found a few that fit my budget. We settled on Chaos Rising, which sat perfectly within my budget and (almost perfectly) my ten-pack requirement. I am excited about my purchase, but I am way more excited about how much I learned. Thanks to Alex, I know enough to confidently get back into the Pokémon Trading Card Game again. If someone less knowledgeable about the game's offerings had been there, they would not have had the confidence to walk me through everything, and would have been less interested in helping me find what I was looking for. Since Amazon cannot offer this kind of experience (I tried there before heading to the store), had Alex not been there to ask questions to, that probably would have been the last time I bought a pack of Pokémon cards. Instead, I am already looking at the next box to buy.”
