“I’ve been going to Toy Lair since they opened in Carytown and can easily say there is no better shop in the city for any of your nerd related needs. The shop is immaculately curated and does so much for the local community, it’s sincerely impressive. No matter what you’re collecting, interested in, customizing, building, painting, or in need of ordering.. they have you covered. From sentimental figures I’ve been hunting down from my childhood to miniature painting supplies.. video games and collectors editions.. legitimately. You won’t find anywhere better in VA. The owner is easily one of the most knowledgeable collectors and enthusiasts I’ve met and it’s been so cool to see how much the shop has grown. That doesn’t even touch on the community work and appreciation they show. Paint nights. Local artists featuring customs and clothing. Group hangs. It’s just truly one of the greatest things to see in a world where everyone is ordering online or plugged into something. “This was my first time coming to the new location and while the original spot was cool, this place is Awesome. It’s intricately themed, there’s so many cool toys and collectibles available and the guy running the place really knows a lot about Toys and seems like a generally cool dude. Never thought I would run into someone else who collects Battle Trolls. Speaking of which, glad to add another one to the collection. I wholeheartedly recommend seeking this place out if you like classic toys, Collectables, Art vinyl toys, Anime and retro gaming. You will have an absolute blast here.”

“Toy lair is amazing! I love that they host commander nights and have all the plastic toys and trinkets any human can need. Also huge shout out to the game grotto in there. The curation of games is like walking through a collectors dream and everyone involved obviously has knowledge and passion in toys and games. “I was very surprised at the selection of figures in this place. Most shops around Richmond focus on video games and/or Pop figure pllastic waste, but this shop is legit! Wether you are looking for oldschool vintage toys, Current Anime figures, or a big fancy statue to top off your collection , this place is where you need to go. Also yes they do have a small section for video games, but even that section had a nice selection too!”
