“I genuinely love this shop. Bruce is a great guy, if not old school, but as one of the longest standing comic stores in Wisconsin I think he’s earned it. His method of organization may be peculiar, but there is some genuine gold throughout the collection and this shop is very much worth the time spent digging through back issues. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they’re always more than happy to order it in for you and his prices are very fair. Bruce has a wealth of knowledge about all things comics and pop culture - I always enjoy chatting with him when I stop by. If you’re a collector who enjoys a unique experience, I highly recommend stopping by!”

“When I was a kid in Madison years and years ago Bruce helped me collect a 60s Marvel series called Captain Savage and his Leatherneck Raiders. It had some tie ins with Sergeant Fury and his Howling Commandos. He was so helpful to me in finding every single back issue of a minor Marvel series. To this day I still remember seeing the expression of delight on his face when I walked in the store and he had somehow obtained the last issue which completed my set. Over the years I always went back to the store and I'm so happy it's still around.”

“I came in here with the children that I nanny for. All three were super excited to be comic book shopping and were having lots of fun searching through the comics. That is until the man working behind the counter came over and asked if we needed any help, I assumed it was a kid gesture but politely declined, saying the kids were just browsing. He then poked his head out the door, scanned the street, shut the door and began to yell at me and the kids. Yelling at them because they were looking through what was apparently the more expensive comic books, and he didn't want them to break anything. It’s a reasonable concern but we had no idea they were expensive since they just sitting out in a pile like all the others. There had also been other people in the store looking through them earlier, but they weren’t yelled at the way we were. Not only was it an incredibly terrible experience and poor customer service, but the kids that I nanny for are mixed and the man working there was a white old man. I have every reason to believe that this interaction was not only rude but racially charged and potentially a micro aggression, as a white woman it’s not my place to say if something is or isn’t racist since I’m white, but it certainly felt that way. I also felt like he talked down on me because I am a teenage girl. He talked to me in a way that made it feel like he thought I was dumb and didn’t “understand the value” of comic books. Not only did the interaction feel racist but this bitter old man is also sexist. Do not go here if you want to be treated with kindness and respect. There are plenty of other comic book stores to visit that actually value there customers.”
