The shops, in detail
Bases Loaded — Fresno's card institution since 1989
★ 4.6 (114 Google reviews) · 2745 W Shaw Ave Ste 111
Opened in 1989 by teenage brothers Marc and Chris Gooboian, Bases Loaded is the Central Valley's full-service card shop: sports, Pokémon, Magic, and Yu-Gi-Oh! with a published buylist and grading drop-off — the only Fresno shop confirmed to offer both. Call ahead with large collections.
Crazy Squirrel — the league-night mainstay
★ 4.6 (604 Google reviews) · 7711 N First St
Fresno's most-reviewed game store and one of its oldest full-range shops, Crazy Squirrel runs an active, famously welcoming Pokémon league alongside its board-game wall. The community hub for players north of Shaw.
Dragon's Hoard — the tavern-style newcomer
★ 4.9 (71 Google reviews) · 3026 W Bullard Ave
Opened in late 2022 by Brady and Jen Baxter, Dragon's Hoard pairs a tavern-style play space with Magic, Pokémon, and Warhammer — the highest-rated shop in the city and the pick for D&D-adjacent card players.
JR's Sports Collectibles — the sports specialist since 2001
★ 4.3 (500 Google reviews) · 4249 W Shaw Ave #103
A West Shaw sports-card fixture for over two decades with long daily hours. Note the fine print: no grading drop-off and store-credit-only returns — browse-and-buy is the play here, not selling.
Health Points TCG — the singles counter
★ 4.4 (134 Google reviews) · 5150 Cesar Chavez Blvd #111
A dedicated TCG singles shop with a growing local following — the kind of counter where set builders hunt specific cards rather than sealed product.
Legends Comics and Games — two Valley locations
★ 4.5 (425 Google reviews) · 5412 N Blackstone Ave
A Blackstone Avenue staple with a second store in Clovis, mixing comics with TCG product and organized play. Convenient bookends for a Fresno-Clovis shop crawl.
