“Good store. Very fair prices. Really enjoyed the Fester's Quest display to one of the best nes games”

“Megaton Games on James St went so far above and beyond for my family that I don’t even know where to start. We ended up hosting my mom’s memorial service in their back game room — last minute — and it was honestly the perfect place to celebrate her life. My mom was a massive gamer (retro, board games, everything), and this space felt like it was built for someone like her. Way more personal, warm, and meaningful than some cold hall or funeral venue. The back room itself is AWESOME. Super spacious, clean, comfortable, and packed with character. The front of the store is surrounded by shelves of games, merch, and art, so the whole atmosphere feels fun, nostalgic, and welcoming instead of heavy and depressing. We had people of all ages there — kids, adults, older relatives — and everyone found something to enjoy. The owners even went out of the way to save games for us to play during the event, my mom's favorite Atari games, which turned it into an actual celebration instead of just a sad event. Alex and his wife were absolute legends. Even though it was short notice, they took extra time to deep clean and prep the entire space, made sure everything looked great, and were incredibly kind and personable the whole time. They made the process easy during what’s already a stressful moment in life. And the price? Basically nothing — only because we wouldn’t let them refuse payment. That alone says everything about the kind of people running this place. By the end of the day, several guests were buying merchandise and checking out the shop because the store itself is just that cool. I would absolutely host other events here without hesitation — birthdays, gatherings, anything. Supporting small businesses like this is so important, and Megaton Games is a crown jewel. Syracuse is lucky to have this venue/shop. If you’re hunting for a unique, fun, welcoming event space run by genuinely good people, stop looking. Could not recommend them more.”

“cute little store:) owner was super nice and friendly. unfortunately didnt have any PS2's (ofc not the store's fault!) but did have a nice selection of modern and retro games and consoles. prices were reasonable. would definitely come back next time i'm in syracuse:) and would recommend stopping in for anyone looking for games, consoles or even trinkets/plushies/etc (when i went, there were some cute crochet items, art prints and perler beads). absolutely love and recommend supporting local and small stores, especially when the owners are kind and also platform local artists works!”

“From the moment I walked through the door and owner Alex proclaimed to me that Irish people aren’t white I knew it was my new game store. (My company is named after the stone throwers, and he knew that Irish people had been treated as second class citizens.) He located several hard to find PS2 games and a beautiful PS2 for me, and we had a great conversation about his company, his dream of a community space, and our shared hatred of fascists. Alex has also dedicated a section of his store for local artisans to spotlight and sell their products, including hand knitted potion jars, 3D printed desk toys, and what I thought were “marital aids” but he insists are not. He also found a brand new copy of Death Stranding 2 for me because he knows my love of walking simulators can’t be beat. Call or DM him and I assure you he will go above and beyond for your retro gaming needs.”
